THE FIRST MONDAY IN MAY

Every year, the Met Gala takes place on the first Monday of May. A celebration of elaborateness with the who's who in the fashion world. Designers, celebrities, models and editors all come together to open the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute spring exhibition. This year's theme "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination" even features robes on loan from the Sistine Chapel.

For 70 years the fashion world has anticipated this highly talked about night, with prep starting weeks in advance, and this year was no different, babe. We take a look at our fave looks from the event, dreaming that we one day will be walking the infamous Met Gala Red Carpet alongside the Kardashians and after partying with RiRi. The question on everyone's lips now is: which designer would you wear?

Blake Lively wearing Versace

Its reported the bodice alone took 600 hours to make, but for a dress that is surely going to make the front cover of Vogue's Met special issue, we think it is definitely worth it! Blake looked as phenomenal as ever and now we're wondering - gurrrrl, what night out could we get down in this dress?

Gigi Hadid wearing Versace

One of the hottest supermodels in the world, Gigi Hadid, wears this dress too well - pairing the ensemble with minimal makeup and to die for hair. This is definitely one of our fave looks.

Kendall Jenner wearing Off-white.

True to Kendall's style she keeps things edgy in this trouser combo by Off-white, and we're sending love heart eye emojis.

Rihanna wearing custom Maison Margeila

One of the hosts of the night, we knew that bad gal Rih Rih was going to make a statement. Looking like the Pope, Rihanna gets top marks for knowing how to dress for a themed party and we're totally wanting to become Rihligious, too.

Ariana Grande wearing Vera Wang

Attending her first Met, Ariana Grande looked like a renaissance painting in this fabulous Vera Wang Gown. Sporting her signature high pony and winged eyeliner, she is serving us a major look.

Katy Perry wearing Versace

Katy Perry never disappoints when it comes to the Met Gala and always one to make a statement, this year was no different. Wearing 6ft wings, she was a real life angel.

Ashley Graham wearing Prabal Gurung

Curves for days. Miss Graham kept it simple and sultry in this bronze look with sleek hair and a golden eye. We are so here for this look (and you), girl!

Jasmine Sanders wearing H&M

Drippin' in gold, Jasmine Sanders looks perfect in this H&M gown. Our favourite part of her get up was definitely the hair - a plait entwined with roses, jewels and gold ribbons - can we have your hairdresser's number please?

Winnie Harlow wearing Tommy Hilfiger

The dress, the head piece and the jewels. Need we say more?

Kylie Jenner wearing Alexander Wang

Making their red carpet debut, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott, worked the cameras. Kylie wearing an Alexander Wang dress that represents her everyday style, edgy and sporty. But can we talk about those glasses? We NEED them, like now.

JLo wearing Balmain

One hot mama, JLo demands attention in the Balmain design, that works perfectly with the theme. Get it gal!

Kim Kardashian wearing Versace

Looking like a dream, we couldn't imagine this dress on anyone else apart from Kim K's hourglass. She slaayyyyyyyysss!

Solange wearing Iris van Herpen

Always leave it to Solange to take the theme, then make quirky and cool. We're obsessed.

Sza wearing Versace

Keeping things cute, Sza looks heavenly in the Versace number. We are loving the accessories and wondering where we can get our hands on one of those gold head bands. You know, just for an every day look.
